How we work

Barkfire produces limited edition books which tell the stories of some of the World’s most outstanding yachts, and are a continuing celebration of each project.

We have been the fortunate witnesses of the creation of some of the World’s most beautiful landmark (or would that be “seamark”?) yachts. Beginning at the close of the last century with the first yacht of the new Millennium, we have been documenting the creation of superyachts in books, photographs and on film.

Designed as a personal memento or a creative gift for charter guests, a limited edition book is a unique, comprehensive and personal record of the history and travels of a superyacht. From painstaking design to highest standards of production, we are well familiar with every aspect of taking a book into the realm of objects which are as beautiful as they are informative, and create something entirely personal for each project. Every book is individually crafted.

Barkfire is a collaborative creative shop, a publishing consultancy and a production company but first of all we are a team of highly skilled, passionate individuals who come together in whatever combination is required for each project. We have extensive editorial resources available worldwide and can call on writers, photographers, film crews and other creative professionals as need be.

We are based in New Zealand, with creative offices in Brighton and production in Hong Kong and Europe.
